I watched her video and I was happy to see that she did not deal with a lot of mean people.

This short might mislead a lot of people so I'll give some context

First of all the woman touching her hair actually asked if the dangling hair "is it okay down?" They also told her that she had a hair out, and if it is okay for them to fix it for her.

The women are indeed talking about her, but they're talking about how cute she was without knowing that she actually understood them. She even talked and laughed with them in the video.

Now for the last part that's just Japanese people choosing who to sit beside with. However, there's a comment in the full video that they might just not want to ruin the kimono sleeve by sitting on it.

Now she also explained her bad experience with Japan, such as with some of the students and the old man. I suggest you all watch the whole video. It is very insightful.

The short clip may trigger some people to think of negative experiences they have had in the US. However, your full video said most people were being polite even the lady asking you if you wanted the loose hair up. You didn't realize it was down in the store. When I was in Asia, people stare was from curiosity and was non-threatening like I have experienced in the US. I was actually treated better abroad.

I’m a world traveler and I do so with my dark brown young adult twin sons.

We get stares, in SE Asia, people stopped us often for pictures with them but that’s also happened where we are now in Eastern Europe.

I had a couple of comments about my locs in Europe but a ton (plus wanting to touch them) in SE Asia.

To minimize and eventually eliminate the touching I told them that in my tradition it was a sin to touch my locs and that those who violated this rule would be cursed.

Yeah, that was dramatic but guess what? Not another soul who was warned ever rolled up to touch my locs again. 🎯

Whatever I do, I’m not going to allow fear or others’ ignorance or lack of exposure limit me. 💯

Live your life.

I watched your full video and it's great that you've highlighted how this behaviour can be mistaken. 😘

My mind can not comprehend how an adult finds it acceptable to touch a complete stranger!

Japan is very sweet I also watched your video about this and think others could be more respectful but in any other case a majority of people you mentioned was very sweet

Isn’t this short kind of counterproductive to your video that you made that included these clips?

She’s presenting this, as if it was all racism and bad encounters but if you watch the entire video, you’ll find that it was actually the complete opposite so basically this is click bait

When I was in college I felt insecure whenever no one wanted to sit next to me (which was all the time). Now I get pissed off whenever people sit next to me (which is all the time for some reason) that I just get up, leave, and get an online cab instead.

Honestly not sure why you created this short to make it seem like they have bad manners when your full video is the exact 🤦‍♀️

You look so beautiful in a kimono 👘 I’m sure you get stares but the Japanese people looks welcoming to you for wearing a Kimono representing their culture in a positive way.

So a situation happened to my friend and I when we visited. While on the JR in Tokyo, We were at the last stop and the only two left on the car and out of nowhere when the doors opened a gentleman ran onto the train, squat down, and took a pic of my friend. She was wearing a skirt but had black leggings beneath so we were very thrown by his behavior and didn't know what to do. I guess he doesn't deserve to be called a gentleman...We told our friends we were visiting and they expressed what we should do, if that circumstance were ever to arise again. They apologized for him as it is not usual.
