CONSERVATION FLASHBACK - WORLD RECORD FISH (1971) -- From the MDC Video Archives (videotaped in 1988) -- Go fishing with the world record holder of the green sunfish. Paul Dilley of Springfield made the catch at Stockton Lake 48 years ago, and the record still stands today.

Mr. Dilley passed away 20 years ago.

Absolute giant green sunfish. It would be difficult to raise a 12 oz greeny.

I can remember when Lake Stockton was being build. My Grandparents owned a motel in Stockton and used to have a lot of workers stay there. It did not take long for that lake to produce a record. They were filling the lake in 1969.

Holy smokes a perch with gigantism pretty much 😳 that's a fish of a life time... I caught a mega mouth with a casting net once... but the most special fish I've caught were hybrid panfish hopefully one day I get lucky
