I connected my screen to a external monitor and kept going through steps and it worked. I guess it was a charge but at same time screen is completely black still. It was already cracked pretty bad where I can only see half of screen but now it’s fully gone.

If anyone is having an issue with their device not charging, check if you are using the power adapter that came with the MacBook or something else. I was using a usb-c attached to my docking station and wasn’t even able to see the screen saying there wasn’t enough charge to turn on (battery icon with small red tick and plug icon below it). Turns out the docking station is only putting out 20 watts and the power adapter can put out >100 watts. I got the charging screen after trying this. Still hasn’t turned on (only been a few minutes). But at least I got something.

Hi, mine just went off, didn't boot. Had to change the charging cable. Maybe the device has not enough energy to work so it won't boot. I hope this helps somebody. The cable kind of worked. So it said charging but it was not charging correctly. I got really scared. Let it charge, close the lid. Change the cable if needed. Good luck MacBook brothers

This is the third time i had a screen blackout . First time it happened . I got the hardware replaced when it was under warranty.


2nd time it happened. I left it as it is unbothered. I kept doing all combinations once a week here and there and on one fine day the system completely rebooted. I dont know how


3rd time is the current time the screen went black suddenly one fine day. And i can only here chime now, see the keyboard lights but the screen is completely black. I will try doing randim key combinations because no one is sure how to fix it. Its a hardware issue am sure.

Good video with clear instructions! BUT as this video is for M1 MacBooks it's worth noting that reseting SMC won't help you as M1/M2 MacBooks don't have a SMC. 
Leaving the laptop unplugged for 30+ sec is the closest thing you'd get to reseting the SMC as far as I know.

It happened to me twice when I used a different Mac charger. I connected to an external display and used it until the battery drained, then charged it fresh with my own charger.
