Rough Puff Pastry

Follow my easy recipe to make delicious puff pastry.

The biggest difference between rough puff pastry (also known as flaky pastry) and classic puff pastry is that in the rough version you break the butter up into small pieces before combining with the flour, instead of incorporating as one large slab of butter.

You only need flour, butter (preferably real butter) and ice cold water.

Ensure your butter is very cold as well as your water.

Slm, is this like the puff pastry you buy pre-rolled at the shops? I wasn’t sure if you can use puff pastry as the base of a pie, some websites say to pre bake the base when using puff pastry, please advise if that is necessary?
