!!!! My first year was last year and I felt like a FAILURE and I was not doing anything right. I’m at a new school this year and school hasn’t started yet and I feel way more supported already than last year.

Biggest prob I had was every time I wrote lessons in school it was the full shebang - 13 pages or so. So trying to write that every day.... someone needs to show you the acceptable shortcuts.

I’m pretty sure my admin couldn’t teach. She had crazy expectations but couldn’t actually show what it was supposed to look like. She just named off buzzwords and expected us to know how to do them. As if ‘differentiate’ meant more than just ‘give different levels of assignments’.

That sounds exactly like all the students who go to school all day then have the expectations of doing homework from every class till 8 or 9 at night. It's too overwhelming!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I love this show I’m not even a teacher but i do come from a family of teachers. My grandmother (retired), mom (retired)and big sisters all are teachers. I seen first hand the hardships of teaching, thank you all for being the loving people to do this profession.

I learned a lot from being a teacher assistant and sub. My main thing will be recycling lesson plans. I'll change somethings but yup going recycle it all. I'm not able to stay late due to having an infant and a life outside of work. The main thing I learned was when it's time to go home leave and don't take any work with you.

That’s not the job you were hired for at all!! Set boundaries from day one! I continue to have this problem! Don’t let them get to you!! 24 years in and I still have this boundary!! Look out for you!! They could care less about your mental health!! They have broken me personally!! I hate it but I do it myself!!
