That feeling of vindication and VALIDATION, just gd! Hope that admin interacted with teachers in a whole new and RESPECTFUL way from that moment on. Being like "well did you try x, y, z????" No ma'am, I've been twiddling my dang thumbs just HOPING they'd behave on their own! OF COURSE I tried all the dang things, Jeez! The caucasity SMDH

I had a religious school class that had burned through 5 teachers in 2 years, and for 3 years I cohorted with them. Started in 4th/5th and kept until 6th/7th. As soon as the group was set to move into the next building, I was aggressively not invited back because my "methods" didn't "match" with the "environment." I loved those kids, and they're still thrilled to see me around. They left my care as independent young people.

I miss teaching but I do not miss the "environment" that tries to treat preteens with the same methods as the prekindergarteners. (hint: lowering your voice to encourage listening doesn't work on 12-year-olds.)

There should just be a “this is a nightmare class” protocol bc sometimes we can’t fix everything and neither can admin

I had a teacher in elementary school named miss. Butler. She was amazing. Any kid that was new (like me, couldn’t speak English like new to the country) and kids other teachers couldn’t handle were sent to her. She loved us. We were what people called at risk youth. We probably were terrible but under her care we flourished and truly got seen. I loved her so much. My most fondest memories

I have been struggling with my 7th graders. The science teacher has confirmed that they are one of the hardest groups he has had in years. The principal came and sat in the back of my classroom a couple days this week and it was amazing! They were quiet and we got through the lesson. They raised their hands, they answered the questions I asked them. He knows what is going on. And I have told him that he is welcome in my room any day.

Your in the minority most administrators couldn’t be bothered with trying to change their world view by demonstrating their critiques.

OH CHILE, that was my class last year. I taught Pre- K Special Needs. The reading coach made it 20 minutes then said "No, I can't do this." 2 assistants quit, no subs would come to the class. I had a breakdown... I totally feel you!

I'm an assistant teacher for TK and my job overlaps into after school with TK and K. My kids were HORRIBLE after school, the other after school teachers called them little demons. Our Youth Specialist thought she could straighten them out, so she took over my class for 1 day. She said they were HORRIBLE, she had a headache after and was drained. I was honestly happy they showed their true colors and proved that it wasn't me.

Was this pre-pandemic or since 2020?
Those kids that were home with their parents for a couple years are on a whole new level. They are amazing and hilarious and super intelligent, but I have noticed such a tremendous difference in kids before the the pandemic and now after…
These kids are resilient. ❤

Lol, this is literally happening at my school. The teacher and the teacher aid left on a mental break for multiple weeks and now the directrice and the psycho-educator that have been saying that there is no problem with the students have been taking care of that class. Apparently the directrice only lasts like 20 min at the beginning of the period. The students insult them and they do nothing. It’s great to watch!

That's my class this year 😂. We've had: the principal, the assistant principal, the school psychologists, the director for the DPP, 3 district leaders and NONE of them knew what to do. It's like they are the Very Hungry Caterpillar, eating their way through all these adults 😅.

I love the fact that teachers are talking about their struggles in school with the kids and parents 👪.

This just happens! It's hard when it's in the first couple of years of teaching especially, so I'm happy he had the confidence to KNOW it wasn't him that year.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's my class!!! My assistants keep quitting. My director only breaks me at nap time when I have most of my kids sleep already.

I feel this in my soul!! 😂 I work with infants and any time my director makes me fill in in our preschool class I will do ANYTHING to get out of it! I have the utmost respect for PreK teachers because I absolutely cannot do it 😂
