ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM Review | Asus' 32-inch 240Hz 4K Monitor is Fantastic

Показать описание
The Asus ROG Swift PG32UCDM marks a departure for Asus. It's the first QD-OLED monitor we've seen from the company, packing in a robust list of features, 4K resolution, and a 240Hz refresh rate. It also comes in at a higher price than the competition.

How does Asus justify the premium? There are multiple small advantages across this display that add up to make it something that's more impressive than the sum of its parts.

Hey everyone! Thanks for watching. Really tight turnaround on this review, so I wanted to draw attention to the 1% window brightness that's overlayed on screen when discussing image quality (around 8:30). I've already seen a lot of comments about DisplayPort 1.4, as well. You can run the full resolution and refresh rate with DSC, and you have the option to turn off DSC in the menu.

Also wanted to clarify something I didn't know while recording this video. Apparently the Console HDR mode on this display is the peak brightness mode, so that's what you should run if you want the screen to get as bright as possible.

glossy coating is not something to overcome its a feature

The glossy coating alone sets this monitor apart in terms of actual quality to the eye and it is so understated

I'd be very interested to see how the ELMB or BFI works with 60hz content, particulary retro games/emulation. Could it get us closer to a CRT replacement?

Thanks for this. I'm getting one now!

Does the aspect ratio adjustment feature on the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM work with consoles to switch from 32” to 27”? Need to confirm for gaming setups

Great video, congratulations!
Given this monitor can also be used for partial productivity work and I use a Mac, then I would be inclined to chose the Asus over the Alienware if the KVM supoorts usage of both windows PC and a Mac.
Does it support switching between windows PC and Mac?

In the video you said ELMB lets 60FPS look as smooth as 120FPS from a motion blur standpoint. Isn't it 120FPS looking like 240? Its a 240hz panel so it seems like it would accept 120 frames, then display one, display black, display another one. That way if you can't render 240fps, you can still get the motion resolution of 240fps with a 120fps input, similar to but not implemented the same way as my LG cx48 oled's max BFI mode in 120hz.

Congrats!
Can I request that you test out the BFI ELMB feature on Xbox Series X @ 4K 120hz?
I'm curious on how smooth it feels - as it's supposed to give some kind of emulated 240hz motion clarity.
Thanks!

Did you test vrr at 240hz with the pc and if so, did you encounter any flickering at all?

How does this stack up against the LG 32 inch oled that can switch refresh rates

Can it detect window borders like the MSI model? There's no way to disable the 1 pixel thick border on windows in... well, Windows, so it could be liable to burning in a vertical line in the middle of the screen over time when having 2 windows open side by side.

This is such a epic monitor. This is my next monitor for my rig. Thank you so much for the review.

What about text clarity? I hope you mention it when comparing this QD-OLED to the new LG OLED panels

Preordered this yesterday, been waiting for a long time. Just a few more weeks to go 😅

Question: is text on a 4k oled better than 1440p IPS? I want to buy this and only downside for me seems for reading documents. I just can't imagine it actually being bad though.

Would think be a good monitor for graphic design? I want to use it for both my PS5 but if I can use it for work I can justify the expense.

I've mostly used Apple computers/laptops with bright and high DPI monitors. Most of the MacBook monitors are in the 450 to 550 nit range in SDR. Aren't you finding the 260 nit full screen brightness to dim for productivity work and web browsing?

I am really hyped for this display and I really want this DOLBY VISION, because I already use Dolby ATMOS for Windows
