Buy old cars, look after them, customise and personalise them, cherish them. Thats it. Thats the solution

You talk more sense than all our politicians, Lee!

Another elephant in the room is the insurance cost. If I change to an EV my quote more than doubles.

The ultimate goal from the wall kissing overlords is to stop you driving altogether. They want you trapped in 15 minute neighbourhoods. They aren't hiding it

The EV sales figures are grossly skewed by fleet and company car sales. Sales of EVs to private motorists are pretty much non existent. There is no evidence that battery overall life span is better and it’s still true that once that battery is depleted the car is scrap.
What happens when you’ve just got home in your EV and the battery is low but then you need to go back out again immediately because of a family emergency a lot of miles away??? You’re not going for hours are you. This happened to our friend and her i3 is now gone and she’s back in a petrol car.

I'm with you all the way with your well reasoned arguments and underpinned by trade knowledge. Excellent observations.

Unless the government is about to hand everyone £20k to go out and buy an EV, good luck trying to get the working class folks to jump on that sinking ship.

Couldn’t agree more Lee. Agree with everything you’ve said. Also not mentioned is that me and about 80% of properties in my area have no off street parking so no where to charge if we was to have an electric car anyway

Your cars are amongst the greenest on the road as they are fairly economical and have already been made. Your mechanical knowledge and work ethic are to be admired. Great video.

Good to see you back, Lee. Hope you’re on the mend. Big fan of your content.

I'm an EV owner but Lee is spot on. They're not suitable for everyone and the Government are pushing the change far too soon without a range of options that will eventually be available but not in the next 6 years.

Very measured and sensible. I live in a terrace house. There’s nowhere for me to charge at home. I can’t even park outside my own front door. The cost of charging elsewhere seems to be prohibitive not to mention the inconvenience and the difficulty of finding charging points. So electricity is not for me.

Solid common sense but wasted on government ears. Motoring will be for the privileged elite with no concern for anyone else. Sad times.

Agree 100% with everything you say. The only thing that worries me is the government will tax us out of ICE cars ???

Spot on Lee, why should we be concerned about net zero when China Russia and America are the most polluting countries

We’ve just gone down the middle route, petrol hybrid and to us it seems Now that’s the sensible way to go. Back and forth to work we run purely electric, but for longer journeys the petrol takes over, but those journeys are few, so that works for us, but it’s not for everyone.

National grid will never ever cope with the amount of cars being charged, we, ll all end up going back to the dark ages, eat lentils, wear sandles, ride a horse n shit in the bushes.Absolute madness.

when they made power lifts (for disabled people) compulsory on brand new coaches, this just led to lots of people paying for complete rebuilds of old coaches to avoid the massive cost of the power lift. lots of coaches on the roads are effectively brand new coaches but have the metal square containing the VIN number from the old coach welded onto the new frame, thats right they are registered as old coaches but the only surviving bit of the original coach is the bit of metal with the VIN number. same will happen with diesel & petrol cars, a massive market in rebuilding them but keeping the old VIN number will emerge.
