Riot is clearly stronger Venom. Venom even said himself that Riot was stronger than him. Offspring are stronger than their parents and in the comics Riot is the offspring of Venom which may explain why Riot was stronger. Even if in this universe Riot isn’t the offspring of Venom, it was likely because his offense abilities countered Venom along with his experience. Carnage technically beat Venom on two separate occasions during the Final Battle, but outside forces saved Venom.

3. Cletus himself was actively resisting cuz he hurt Shriek

Venom cannot beat carnage, due to shriek’s immense sonic scream caused carnage to be weakened and seperated him which allowed the lethal protector to eat him up.

I think that if Carnage and Shriek weren’t giving off brother and sister that don’t get along vibes, Venom 2 would’ve been rated R. In the comics, Carnage was the most psychotic symbiote and all he wanted to do was kill and cause havoc. In this movie, Carnage does the same old typical stuff we’ve seen with Riot. And for some reason Carnage and Shriek are not good friends. In the comics they were CRAZY! But in this movie Carnage tried to kill Shriek because of her screams. I didn’t get Venom 2 at all.

Venom lost to both. Without the help from anything, they would've lost. During the fight versus Riot and Venom, Eddie died, but Venom brought them back. Riot was sent into space by a blowing up space shuttle. Without the help of the bell or screech, venom would've lost to Carnage. Carnage is faster and has better abilities, but Venom has more experience in fighting other Symbiotes.

Riot could only do so much because of the Human he “bonded” with was a serial killer and his emotions would get the better of him so Venom was able to get the upper hand. Venom and Eddie had been bonded for much longer and were more compatible and they worked in unison rather than letting Venom do all the work which is what Carnage was doing. And Venom would rather die with Eddie than leave his body. When Carnage was losing he was gonna ditch Cassidy.

The real answer is, they created this completely false and antithetical character trait for Carnage - they weren't symbiotic, even though that was the WHOLE point of them in the comics.

To be fair, carnage was only a couple of days old and riot was a general that was leading the start of a symbiote invasion on earth. Basically what he said just he didn't mention the general part.

What people seem to miss is venom can’t make weapons out of himself but he’s physically stronger then both riot
And carnage and more
Durable but the fact they can both make weapons is what gives them a major advantage against venom

There’s also the fact that Riot had a much more compliant host than Carnage. I remember reading something about a symbiote can only be as strong as the bond with its host
