Hello Ben. Thank you very much indeed for sharing so amazing an interview regarding the Cambidge C2 speaking component. I am reading Tess of The D'urbervilles by Thomas Hardy and I found a saying: "When there is a will, there is a way", so when Simon concluded his speech almost at the end of the video, he used exactly the same expression. And that made me reflect on the importance of reading for pleasure. Stay safe!

I noticed a lot of times Simon was rushing and competing to get his thoughts in and pressuring himself to find the words- making him stutter. A better strategy might have been to allow his partner to speak; listening would have generated some ideas and thoughts that he could be formulating in his head while he's waiting.
I think it would have strengthened his argument.

I think that besides the fact that Patrick seems charismatic, he laughs at himself to create a comfortable atmosphere and his brain doesn't go blank. I mean ideas come to him clearly when he's not reeling from nerves.
