This scene is so deep and powerful and it's the very moral to the story and very much what life is all about now a days.

the one scene that sold this entire movie for me, it took steve to break her from her naivete and to make her see how complex people are, then that killjoy ares showed up

Chris Pine really NAILED it with his performance! Along with his chemistry with Gal Gadot, Chris Pine really sold me. I hope he gets more movies after Wonder Woman!

This scene really got to me, as a combat veteran who's been to Kosovo, Iraq a d Afghanistan and seen the potential for horrible human cruelty and on the flip side the amazing potential for good and courage, this scene touched me and rings very true

It is true about what Steve said we all want a bad guy to blame

Thank you for posting this. It's possibly the most important scene in the film ... equal to No Man's Land. In No Man's Land, her heroic abilities fully emerge. In this scene, she learns who "we" are (complex beings) and is stunned by that realization. It's brilliantly played by Gal and Chris!

She came from a world where its just good and evil.Obviously she doesn't understand in the mortal world we are all grey complex creatures. Its not just one big baddie that is causing all the things in the world.Thats why i like this movie alot :D

This scene alone propels this film way beyond any other superhero film I have ever watched in terms of ethical questions. It is actually very sophisticated.

I love the subtlety in Gal’s eyes watering up as the scene progresses. Literally the best chemistry between two characters ever put on screen don’t @ me lol

THIS SCENE, cemented how different Steve Trevor was from Steve Rogers. Definitely prefer this, because sometimes there are no easy black and white answers.

This was the best scene in the movie, I was so ready for the climax to be Steve trying to fight the end of the war, and Diana having to come to grips with what she just heard and realizing that Steve is right and that humanity can be messy and terrible but still worth fighting for, and I was like holy crap this might be my favorite superhero movie....and then Aries showed up and ruined that....

Man I love how he just tries to explain it to her but he is willing to fight despite knowing that it may be hopeless. The depth of what he said was more saddening and deep than Captain America but Marvel made it more hopeful. "I don't want to kill anybody. I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from."

My jaw was on the floor during this scene
Steve Trevor is hero in the aspect along with so many other unsung heroes without powers
He just tries his best when he doesnt have the answers

This scene is so good, but I feel like it's undercut by the fact that right after this, Ares reveals himself to Diana. Turns out she was right all along, Ares did basically engineer the events that led to war. Sure, he says that he only gave humans the tools for war and that it was their choice to fight one another, but it's pretty apparent that he had a major part in war breaking out. After he's defeated you see German soldiers throw down their weapons and embracing, signaling that they were under some sort of influence from Ares.

Imagine how much more powerful it would be if this conversation would be the truth. That Ares doesn't exist (or more so, that his existence doesn't matter) and that human nature isn't black and white, it's shades of gray.

This is so sad because if she went with him to stop them from putting bombs on the planes maybe Steve would still be alive 😢

I love the struggle steve has to explain to diana all the things about war🥰

Diana has an enormous crisis of Faith here when she sees the *darkness within humanity itself, * which I think is something a lot of soldier-types go through, not sure how to fix it yet but remembering *what* you are fighting *for* definitely helps.
