I recently jumped on the Mason Jar train. I started in the pantry. It actually took me three days to get everything transferred, although I have some items that I don’t know what to do with them. Earlier today i did grocery shopping for vegetables and fruit. I came back to this video for some inspiration and now on to Amy’s cross legacy for vegetable chopping. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna take me more than a day to get my frig overhauled. I can’t wait till I’m completely converted.

Thank you for this video. I’m vegan. I have a lot of mason jars that I have been using lately to store dry goods like lentils, salt, grains, tea, herbs, superfoods, etc. I just started organizing my refrigerator like your last week. I was waiting for my plastic regular and wide-mouth lids that I ordered from Amazon. I really like your idea for the tiny jars for leftover sauces. Those sauces are usually what stain Tupperware. Spaghetti sauce always stains. But we can use these glass jars 🫙 without ever fearing they will stain. After I get my refrigerator organized, I’m going to get more mason jars so that I can start sprouting.

Mason jars are wonderful for storing leftovers. We do it all the time in our household. We also freeze leftovers in them too. Getting mason jars from thrift stores are so much cheaper. 😍

Those white lids are fine for the frig and good for ferments as they are not airtight and don't hold up well after repeated freezing. I generally use the Ball black lids for the freezer as they don't crack and either the metal lids or Ball black lids for dry storage in the pantry.

Another plus in using mason jars is that they are easy to take somewhere or give food to a friend and not fret if the container isn't returned (of course I make sure not to let the plastic lids out).

I have been having the same issue with my Pyrex containers and I have also been starting to use Mason jars more and more around my home. I may have to consider using them more in my fridge as well! Thanks for sharing!

Just found your channel. I’m in the process of switching to jars as well. What I do sometimes for leftovers (like a burger or chicken tenders) is place it on a plate and put a cereal bowl upside down over the item. Works great and ready to use the next day.

I do the same, with this variation: I use different colored mason jar lids to designate what's inside for both my pantry and my fridge/freezer
Red = chili, tomato sauce, strawberry jam
orange = pumpkin seeds, sweet potatoes, apricots & apricot jam
yellow = sunflower seeds, lemons
green = pesto, peas, green tea
blue = blueberries
purple = prunes.
black = black tea
Makes it much faster to spot what I have.

I love my mason jars. I use them for many things especially my vacuum sealer. Great money saving video!

Excellent video; thanks for sharing. I’ve had the idea to do this, but am now more encouraged! 🤗

I do have quite a few pyrex containers, but have also been storing our leftovers and such in mason jars for the past few years, things like an onion or something that won't fit into my mason jar I just cut in half or quarters till it does 😂 we also use our mason jars for our glasses too, they're so versatile and durable! Great video 💖

I first started by putting my left over soup I’m wide mouth quart jars. I find I’m using my jars more often.

Looks a Lot like my thrifted storage jars and I recycled white plastic lids from mayo jars and bought some Walmart mason jar lids. The jars work well and look good. Like you, I kept a few of the nicer glass storage containers. My favorites are a thrifted set of square, nesting Pyrex with white lids. Thank you for the video!

This is great, thanks! I've learned that if I want to be able to scrub a jar, it has to be wide-mouthed, LOL. I have some regular mouth jars that just have accumulated a lot of grime that I can't get to, without a bottle brush, and those can be expensive (as well as not very effective).

Oh this looks so nice. I have glass storing containers that lids clip closed but thankfully they have clear lids but do want to use more mason jars for fruit and veggies.

I love my pyrex containers! I never put the lids in the dishwasher, so they last longer. If they break, new ones can be ordered from Pyrex. I use mason jars for many things, but for leftovers I have several sizes of Pyrex that are easily warmed in the microwave. And they stack nicely in the refrigerator.

I discovered how wonderful it was to refrigerate food in mason jars about 4 Christmas’s ago - can fit SO MUCH MORE in the fridge.
