How to fix black and unresponsive iPhone screen: 5S

I have the iPhone 5s with iOs 9. I was playing music on my phone when I got a text from my brother and when I tried to look at the text, my phone went black. Siri would say "Sorry, I didn't catch that." so I knew that my phone was on but screen was black. I googled how to fix it and found your video. I didn't have to watch the whole thing. Holding down the home button and lock button helped! Thank you!

OMG! I had taken my phone to the genius bar today because this morning my phone wouldnt turn on. They "checked" my phone and said it wouldnt even turn on or show up on a computer and that it would either cost me 127 dollars to fix my phone or I had to buy a new phone. I told them I would sleep on it and thought "what the hell" and plugged my to my laptop, it popped up, google how to fix a black scree, this video showed up, the hard reset worked!
