I was a teenager in the 80's and now that I look back, I can see that every other week an absolute classic was launched. It was a magic that will never be repeated.

Just a note, Tears for Fears are touring now! "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is a great song, ngl. "Shout" could've been another contender from the band's discography. The latter track is an anthem for the ages! ❤️

The most recent 80s song to make a comeback is 'Running Up That Hill' by Kate Bush thanks to Stranger Things.

If Hollywood make a biopic movie about these singers, their songs would've been back to the charts and be popular again right now

Rick Astley deserves this type of recognition. His voice is one of a kind.

There are a lot of songs from the 80's in this case:
- Cutting Crew: I've Died In Your Arms Tonight
- Journey: Don't Stop Believin'
- The Proclaimers: I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)
- Guns N' Roses: Sweet Child O' Mine & Welcome To The Jungle
- Cyndi Lauper: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun & Time After Time
- Queen: Another One Bites The Dust
- Poison: Every Rose Has Its Thorn & Nothin' But A Good Time
- REO Speedwagon: Take It On The Run
- Belinda Carlisle: Heaven Is A Place On Earth
- Europe: The Final Countdown
- Bruce Springsteen: Born In The USA
- Ratt: Round And Round
- Madness: Our House
- Simple Minds: (Don't You) Forget About Me
And the list could go on and on...

Stranger Things didn't introduce gen Z to 80s music, their parents did.

I was going to guess "Don't Stop Believin'" as #1. Ever since it being the soundtrack for Adam Sandler being stood up at the altar in "The Wedding Singer", it has been used numerous times, from "Glee" to the climax in both the Broadway production and film version of "Rock of Ages".

In my eyes, no 80's song has EVER been unpopular. I ❤80's music! In fact, I'd go as far as saying there hasn't really been much "MUSIC" since the 80's.

“True” by Spandau Ballet should be number 1!!! It’s mostly used in every movie and has freaking recall

Speaking as a guitar-player, the one song that has 1985 written all over it is “Money For Nothing” by Dire Straits.
When that song came out in 85’, I must’ve heard it 15-20 times a day.
I’m surprised nobody mentioned it in the comments below. But the 80’s had the best songs, I agree.

Michael Jackson "Beat It" and Ah-A! "Take On Me" are 1980s songs that will always age well!

I remember when Rick Astley first hit the airwaves. I was on holiday with my family in mid-Wales when Never Gonna Give You Up first started playing and the radio DJs were arguing over whether or not it really was this pasty white guy. They thought it was Luther Vandross under a pseydonym.

Man, I miss the 80s. The music was the best. These songs take me right back to the 80s when I was in my 20s.

80’s had the best music. I grew up then and didn’t even appreciate most of it.

Now, listening to all these songs (many I used to not like) it’s hard to believe how good it was back then. It’s easy for these songs to get a second life when most are timeless classics.
