What a great video! Brian is such a good public speaker, and he demonstrates this principle perfectly in this video. I think that it is important to point out, though, that too many pauses can cause your pauses to become less effective and your speeches to be less engaging, especially if you are already a slow speaker.

Hey Brian, Thanks so much for your valuable and clear video. I use pauses to center or regain a powerful delivery. I use pauses, to engage eye to eye with 2-3 people in the audience. I have a tendency to deliver a quick pace message. So Pauses are key to slowing down.

Great short. I do talk faster, and at a higher pitch sometimes. I pause after making a sharp point to give them time to absorb it, then ask for feedback.

Despite the obvious pause caused by brain freezing when I started speaking in front of others, I use a lot of the dramatic pause. (I am a fast talker even on day to day conversations, so my pauses are almost always dramatic)
