really doesn't solve the problem - the problem is I don't want to duplicate the list - I want to have a tab which controls the list and reference the list from other cells in other tabs

Thanks MattBlak. I only wanted to know how to do drop down options. But I had a list of countries. So your video was really helpful because I never even thought of how tedious it would be to type out 200 countries - so you were way ahead and solved my two problems: one I knew I had and the other I didn't know I had!! Is there a way to do this *dynamically*, based on the contents of the other table? Such that, if you add an additional row/column to the reference table, it automatically shows up in the drop-down?

If I want my pop up menu to reflect, in another cell, a different format dependent on which item I choose in pop up menu, can I do it?
Pop up menu shows: package 1, package 2, package 3, package 4.
I would like, In another cell, to populate different currency values specific to each package.

Hey, thanks for showing how to create a drop down menu. This makes it easier if you have repeating values. It would be great to categorize cells by color instead of repeating words you use like Name 1, Name 2, Name 3.... Do you know if it's possible to set up different colors for single values in a drop down menu? Like working with a cell named status to have a faster look what status it is (open - red, in progress - yellow, done - green)

FWIW, if you want a single popup, you'll need to copy and paste first, make all of the list items into popups, and then copy and paste a single one to where you want it before deleting the rest of them. I had tried selecting the items and copying them, then going to where I wanted my popup and still got Item 1, Item 2, Item 3. Making all the items into popups, and then copy and pasting one of those to where you want it works.

Hi, great video as always.I can't seem to find an answer for my question anywhere, but I'm sure if it's possible you'll know. I'm making a budget spreadsheet and want to track my finances by month. I have made a pop up menu with the items being each month of the year to differentiate and save space. Below the pop up menu table I have three more larger tables, with my income, expenses and savings. What I would like to know is this - is it possible for me to select each month within the pop up menu and have different tables appear underneath with the relevant data for each month. I'm sure it would be an if function but I'm struggling and would be grateful for your help.

How do you protect the cell so the drop down menu is accessible in a shared file, but users are NOT able to delete the drop down menu and use the cell as free text?

Why can you not right-click on a cell in Numbers and just add a hyperlink to a file on your hard disk, just like you can do in Excel?? In Excel (even in a very old 2011 version..) I can just right click on a cell, and add a hyperlink to a file anywhere on my disk (and if it's a video, for example, the video files is opened with VLC player which is the default player I have selected to open videos. Simple.). Is it possible that in the year 2020 Numbers is still so far behind Excel?? Or is this function "hidden" somewhere Numbers and I just can't find it??

The drop-down list only works when it’s in edit mode. How do I correct that?

Is there a way like in Excel where you would be able to type in that box if you choose to? It's too inconvenience to click on the drop down menu everything single entry.
