I recommend looking for a lawyer as soon as possible to sue your daughter for stealing your assets. Joking aside, incredible devlog and it's so beautiful to see the whole family involved with the game.

Your daughter making a version alongside you and your wife is adorable. You should make it a hidden unlock inside the full game that players can access from the menu once they unlock it. 😂

Hi I am a solo dev myself! Watching your dev life is such a pleasure. You have a lovely family, good vibes, working on your passion. I guess this is the ultimate life any game developer can imagine.

I like these videos you make, coupling a devlog along with your daily lifestyle makes for an enjoyable video. Plus, your calm voice narration and pacing is nice on the ears. It’s a breath of fresh air compared to other devlogs where they try to throw in jokes every few seconds or split the video and insert memes with volume jumps. I wish others had the same recipe for success like you have. I know it’s a lot of work for you to make the scripts, storyboard your scenes, filter/weed thru all the clips you made for this and cut it to make sense and then edit the video and audio.

To give you some feedback, what I really like is how you explain your problem, what you did to solve it and if it didn’t work, you explained why and what you did to resolve it.

I've recently found your channel, and this was a fantastic way to see what you're working on! Thank you for all you're work on your channel!

5:38 LateUpdate runs after animations, so if you adjust eyes there, it overrides whatever the animation does. This is how you can do stuff like IK since you position bones _after_ the Animator positions them. That said, a different animation layer with a Direct blendtree with different facial animations (eyes blinking, eyes stunned, angry eyebrows, etc) is a good solution since then you can just adjust some weights in code and combine facial animations. It's really simple to setup too.

I love these kinds of videos! Thanks for sharing a peek once again. I think it's great that your daughter shares an interest in game dev. I've been wanting to get my little one into Scratch Jr. at some point. Samurado is really coming along. It looks great and the gameplay looks really fun. I do think the blood splatter on screen might be a bit much though, so maybe lowering the alpha would work as you said.

Also, you guys seem to work on and off throughout the day with breaks and, of course, life in between. I'm just wondering what's the rough maximum block of time that you work on something and what's the rough minimum amount of time? Usually, I feel like if I don't have at least an hour it feels like I can't get anything done. I've been trying to break this mentality especially since it really depends on the task at hand. So I was curious what you do.

Great video. The game looks great.
The boss jump takes too long to come down, you can slowly walk away from it AND it stuns the big guy. It's not a good move for him. Either make it quicker or make it actually stun the player instead if he's close by (like the landing caused an earthquake that stuns the player).
