Transport ministry should really tell SMRT to get their sh1t together and stop rising rates every year. Take a leaf out of MTR in HK. Build more shops and shopping malls above MRT stations and in linkways operated by SMRT. Earn from the rental of shops and malls to offset higher operating cost. Stop being one dimensional and resort to increasing rates. Diversify earnings
