I ran easy fix but I already had the sp1 installed so I ran the media creation tool. I've had it on my desktop for so long that when I ran it I had to download an updated version of it. Once I did that windows took over and is now downloading windows 10 on my laptop. Thanks for getting me at least this far. Hopefully the update will take and I can get rid of all the pesky warning messages on web browsers and security programs. Well done.

While i install the kb3140245 it say "the update is not applicable to your computer" my window edition is windows 7 ultimate, the system type is 64-bit operating system. i've download the kb3140245 for 64-bit based system but it said the update is not applicable for your computer. Any idea?

I already had the update patch KB3140245 installed years ago, but just the TLS 1.2 protocol was disabled by default.
So the easyfix tool was all that I needed, so no need to reboot after using this tool.
The W10 media creation tool is what I needed to create a USB bootable drive for another PC, and it worked fine after using the easyfix tool.

It used to work fine but then suddenly all laptops were having this problem even with the old Windows 10 update tool from a few years ago. I was wondering now that I have windows 10 running but I still only own the windows 7 disk. If I need to reinstall in the future, I don't use the windows 7 disk I assume. So how would I do a fresh install? Thank you.
