Big Problem with the 2022 F-150 Powerboost

I actually work at a Ford dealership in Illinois and we have found the bed connector for the bed lights to be corroding causing a false light activation.

coolant tank issue i am 377 so far, , tank was just about empty, , , new hose is on national backorder, , , so pay attention it doesnt leave a puddle, its the heat exchanger line, dealer told me drive it and keep on eye on it, gave me antifreeze to keep to refill if low. keep your eyes on it, , , , my build date was 12/21 and delivered 1/24/22

Over air update triggered system reboot. All lights cycled with reboot.

I wouldn’t be worried unless it happens multiple times. Maybe it was an OTA event or just some kind of reset.

OtA update. It happened to me on one of the earlier updates. I watched the truck when the OTA updates were coming in for Bluecruise. You will see the infrared sensors light up also.

Yes, mine has done that several times in the middle of the nite. I'm in the country so yes spooked me. Also have had some issues with overheating when pulling an EMPTY enclosed trailer? The truck actually came to a stop sign put itself in park and shut complexly off. We checked fluids which were all good. We were able to get it to start again when we relived the pressure off of the main coolant reservoir on the top front of engine compartment. Dealer saw it had a cod thrown but have no idea how to fix.

Thanks for posting this. I have a 2022 PowerBoost on order so have been participating on several forums to learn as much as I can about these trucks. There are a myriad of electronics issues with all the new F-150's and the PowerBoost seems to be especially prone to glitches that the dealers and Ford cannot explain. It tells me that Ford has a real quality control issue with their software modules. Seems they were a year or two premature on rolling out a truck as sophisticated as these new vehicles are with everything being controlled by computers. I also wonder if they are adequately shielding the electronics from the high voltage generated for the hybrid motor. Here's hoping they get everything sorted out before they deliver Cole's and my trucks.

My 2020 F350 was doing this a ruined both batteries in 6 days...Ford found a faulty proximity sensor that was causing lights to randomly turn on

Warranty departments are going to be uber busy in new generation vehicles fixing electrical gizmo issues. Was kind of hoping the '22 Powerboost had most of the electrical glitches worked out last year....apparently not.

We had a problem next day with the electrical a problem electrical failure. Steering wheel system frozen while running 1 minute after my wife got off the highway. That could have been catastrophic accident. Towed to dealer and it happened to them as well. Truck has 160 miles and we put less than 100 miles on it ourselves. We ordered it from the factory, waited 5 months, and now still no truck. My experience or suspicion is a short in the electrical system or maybe a software issue but it burned up 2 fuses, impossible to track down and fix. Lost any trust in a brand new ford lariat with all the bells and whistles. We have to wait 20 days before we can file lemon law in this state and be refunded. Thank you

Did he custom order it? I have a 22 on order. Lots of electronics worry me.. buying the extended warranty for sure. I would have thought the same in the middle of the night. With that said, haven’t seen anything like this posted in the forums so far. Keep us updated! PB has been a pretty reliable system overall.

Hello, I'm from Mexico, I own a 2023 f150 limited and the same thing happened to me that happened to you, my cameras will warn me of movement in my garage and when I go to check the lights on my f150 they were flashing, I look inside the cabin and in the screen said ota update in progress, greetings.

On my 2022 I get constant sleep mode activation notices like 4-5 times daily. (Yes, I drive it every day) Have service apt coming up. Not too impressed with the Vehicle so far, I was hoping glitches would have been figured out by the 2022 year.

2022 F150 Powerboost here, 12k miles on it, bought it brand new. It is constantly in the shop, and when it is they have it for 3 weeks or more because they do not have staff at any of the 5 dealerships near us that can work on them. We have had the plug in the bed corroded and cause ground faults twice, the aux transmission pump went out, the battery has had to be replaced twice, It has had issues with switching from electric to gas causing it to overheat. When it does this it will not shut off for up to 10 min after pressing the button. Sometimes it puts itself into a limp mode where it has barely any power, supposedly so it can get you to safety and shut it off. Ford has refused to buy it back. Currently it is in the shop waiting on an aux transmission pump and has been for almost 6 weeks. They cant support it, wont buy it back. When we took it in this time even before they kknew what the problem was they told us it was going to be there for awhile. This truck is a POS. If you are thinking about purchasing one, run away fast!

Proximity alert. Anything that come near lights up your truck. Critters wouldn’t take your truck but will light it up. All else fails read the owners manual!

i have had weird stuff like my key stopped workin on my 21 powerboost lucky i dropped off at dealer it happend to them. but they could not find out y with my key in the truck not noticing it. also hadd alot of electric issues due to program errors. i even had my abs fail twice had to reprogram it. i bought mine from the factory custom xlt 302 high. there also enegine shake yall notice after while with ruff engine idel.

It sounds like your key fob being within proximity of the truck

Can you check when ford did the last over the air update? Maybe that's what caused it.
