How to Completely Turn Off Seeding in Qbittorrent [Easy Guide 100% Working!] [Make Upload Speed 1KB]
Показать описание
In this video we show you how to completely turn off seeding completely in the Qbittorrent client. It is 100% working, very simple to do. You can safely set the speed to 0 without any issue. Guide is updated as of May 2024, but if the menu changes it should still be similar (should be somewhat universal between clients).
Steps:
1. Press the gear icon (settings options)
2. Click on speed tab then Global upload limit
3. Set the number to 1KiB which is very slow (pretty much nothing)
4. Click on connection tab and set global max upload slots to 1 which will save hardware resources
5. Go to bittorrent tab and scroll to Seeding limits.
6. Check when ratio reaches and turn that to 0. At the bottom where it says then you put pause torrent.
There are many good reasons to turn off seeding such as:
Legal Restrictions (check your local laws to see what is allowed)
Slow Bandwidth/Capped Allowance (shared internet, overpriced internet monopoly)
Save energy/pc resources for low end system
There are consequences to this, such as having less people to share a file but I am simply teaching the method for those who don't have an option. Do not judge others living situations and please be polite.
If you can, please seed as much files as you can (make sure you share requirements if you're in a group with specific rules!).
Other ways to help:
Upload files to the cloud so others can still get the file (terabox is free up to 1tb)
Find other ways to transfer the file such as local network, usb, dvd, etc
Use public internet (Friend's House, Cafe, Library)
Use a VPN (Many are Free like setup vpn, cloudflare warp (github keys), bitmask client (riseup vpn and calyx vpn)
Find a good cheap deal on a seedbox which shares the file and you can DDL it off their server
Upgrade your internet if you can get a good deal
I apologize for the poor video quality but the point still comes across. Hope this helps.
