I was talking to my therapist recently about how absolutely horrific people speak to others in comments online, and how the freedom and lack of repercussions to do so online has enabled people to behave borderline sociopathically irl, and she agreed and said “There’s something civilizing about in-person interactions that is completely void in many online interactions.” And man did she nail that on the head. It’s appalling the way some people talk online

Honestly, getting laughed at by other countries for our government's short comings and lack of care feels the same as getting bullied at school for being beaten at home.

Edit: Clarification for one of my comments below; I didn't vote last election season because I wasn't eligible to. Not as in I wasn't registered, I just wasn't of the legal age to.

Also, I didn't expect this to blow up, I was just pointing out something I found kinda frustrating.

There are multiple subreddits where people spend their days talking just like this about Americans. They find some dumb tweet from a teenager who sometimes isn't even American and are like, aha! All Americans are like THIS. Very strange.
