Agnus Dei, or Lamb of God is a Catholic liturgical song.
In the Catholic liturgy the Agnus Dei is recited or sung during the beginning of the Eucharistic bread. Introduced at Mass by Pope Sergio I (687-701) and based on John 1: 29, the Latin form (with translation) is:

Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem.

Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world, have mercy on us.

This composition by Samiel Barber has the same melody as 'adagio for strings', by the same author.

Absolutely stunningly beautiful. It made me cry. The images & music are perfection. Praise God for His merciful love in Dying for us in atonement for our sins. Then rising from the dead. Truly He is the Son of God & Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He rose from the dead & offers us eternal life if we repent of our sins, be baptised in the name of the Father, the Som & the Holy Spirit & then follow Him for the rest of our lives. “ Blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe.”
