I know tons of military marriages that have lasted. The count was decades, but that was mostly because those people weren’t idiots when they decided to get married.

The problem with military marriage is young kids rush into thinking they can circumvent the system to get stationed together or avoid deployments, or they do it simply for the benefits (military housing or BAH, dependent pay, etc.)

It's really not any harder than regular msrriage *IF* you put the work in. Met my husband at 19, we did the long distance on/off again thing for a while then finally married at 25. We were dual military AND different branches! People need to stop making excuses for being crappy partners.

Military marriages do last if both people are mature, work together and actually love each other. Last minute “barrack marriages” in my opinion, do not last as they are all about infatuation and getting out the barracks.

My ex best friend is exactly like this (nearly) married a military guy at 18, divorced at 20 bc she cheated on him, he she gets his milotary benefits becasue the divorce wasnt finalized, she blew all the money on cars, horses, a new house, crystals, and lingerie. Went to a college were a bunch of my classmates were ex military, they all had stories about infidelity. Heck I have an old friend who married some army guy, had two kids, ( I'm not sure if they're both his) divorced and is now going to marry the next army or marine guy she s with. She pregnant again. I'm just confused on who would want to got thru all of this 😂

I know 2 male marines who arent gay but got married just so they could live in on-base housing and get out of the barracks. Funny thing is they each had girlfriends who came to live with them. So, 2 straight couples under 1 roof but the dudes were married so they could have a house.

Soon as one of them left the military divorce was filed and bing bang boom that was that.
