I never saw a Durian before. I've seen something similar looking but smaller called a jack fruit. Thanks for sharing Niki!❤❤❤😊

Thank you for doing a realistic review of durian and avoiding all the sensationalistic nonsense that so many people resort to for clickbait.

Also, durian is delicious and wait till you try some of the other varieties!

Glad you like it. FYI to some the fruit can smell bad. In fact, most Asian hotels explicitly ban consumption of durian inside the hotel.

I think there are several varieties of Durian, some sound like they are good and there is one that supposedly tastes strongly like roasted garlic. It sounds like you got one that tasted decent. I've never tasted any of it, I saw it on a channel called fruitfull trees.

I would’ve worn gloves to hold that thing.. the first time I tried that in Singapore, i didn’t dislike the taste… it tasted a bit like mango and pineapple to me, but the smell in my hands afterwards was horrible… I washed so many times, that smells stays in your fingers for hours, maybe even a day.

I really hate this word “rotten…” If mắm tôm is “rotten, ” the so is cheese, sauerkraut, beer and yogurt. Not to mention sour sausages. It’s controlled fermentation.

My first morning in Vietnam I ate at a bún riêu stand in our local market. The second question the ladies asked me there (after “are you married yet?”😅) was “can you eat mắm tôm?” The lady mixed it up, it was great, and they started trying to set me up
with their daughters. :-))

Also, one of the most amazing fermented meat products you’ll ever eat is real Calabrian nduja, which is now available in the US. 😍

My experience with Durian so far has not been so great. Maybe there are different types.
