Good comparison and valid points, Jason. Sony has come a long way since the A6000. I purchased the A6000 soon after it was released, when it was ahead of its time, and competition, but had some issues. You could download small “apps” to add features — not now. There were few native lenses, but the E-mount made for good adapted lenses. The hot shoe was fussy, the shutter noisy. Panorama mode was frustrating. Early units had lens mount light leaks, but you could easily replace them w/3rd party offerings. The flash was small, but you could tilt it backward. Disappointing battery, but very light weight camera overall.

Viewers LOVE how you show both camera bodies to demonstrate the differences in size and shape. Also, I paid close attention to the ease in which the back screen on the A6700 swings to the side, so smoothly. I recommend everyone go to a camera store and handling the Sony A6700, A6600, Fuji, and Canon cameras, WITH attached lenses (the 18-135mm and 70-350mm sony zooms are fantastic and inexpensive for what they do, lightweight, and perfect for traveling). Compare the sony A6600/6700 to other cameras-I love the form factor of this camera

The card slot on the a6000 makes it a pain to remove. The card slot, better focusing, flip screen, and IBIS are worth the upgrade for me. Ordered it last night. When I started photography the a6000 had just came out. Tried some Nikon and Canon along the way as well but I'm sticking with Sony. Just upgraded glass last year. Good review man.

I would love a comparison of the a6700 vs the a6400. I think the a6400 is the most used camera in the latest years so it would be a great comparison for all of us thinking to upgrade our a6400

The 1080p on the a6000 is STILL valid today man! It was way ahead of it's time! But I'm gonna buy the a6700.

I was on the fence but you talked me into keeping my a6000. Biggest reason? I don't do video (except for Youtube etc for which 1080p is plenty good). Plus I like to travel light and the a6700 is half again as heavy! I do like the flip screen and the weather sealing though.

The A6400, at half the price, would make for a great comparison. How much better in real life is the AF? How much better is the built quality? How much more responsive is the screen for touch focus? Is it instantaneous? Is the IBIS head and shoulders above that of the A6500?
Does the AF make a difference in day-to-day situations?
Has the start up time been improved?

The A6000 is still an amazing camera, I use mine all the time and love my silver body. The biggest upgrade is the added control wheel. And i do plan on getting the 6700 before summer

The a6000 was the camera that started my mirrorless journey, moving from Pentax system. They are fabulous cameras and I owned two in the beginning. I upgraded to an a7ii, then the a7rii and then the a7iii. I sold my last a6000 and purchased an a6400 which is a companion to my a7iii. Now looking to upgrade the a6400 for the a6700.

Truth is image quality hasn't change and it probably won't for a while. The biggest advancements will be improvements in AI and the ability to share faster like people do with smartphones. which they are kinda doing a better job of. I just did a event and was sharing photos instantly from Sony's creators app.
