It’s a lamp not a lantern 😭 as a native speaker of English I’m confirming. Sometimes I’ll call it a light in the context of your story I would respond saying I need a light just in general but a lamp would be more specific and lantern is a handheld light most commonly lit by fire some lanterns are paper or glass and when not handheld are hung outside our in outdoor setting such as a barn. Hope this helps!

Your version is right. A lantern is exactly the same as you showed in the video. A lamp is the type that you put on the side of the bed on in the living room usually longer and bigger than a lantern. 😂

As a native English speaker I don’t call lamps lanterns, lanterns are exactly what you thought of but I think sometimes lanterns can mean lamps in American English

See personally it’s different for everyone but a lantern and a lamp are 2 different things. I would maybe call like a tall lamp a lantern sometimes but that’s it.
