Yes, the heat drives elements within the Stainless Steel to the surface. It's the different element oxidizing that creates different colors at different temperatures.

Pro Tip: Dont touch the fire sticks after they contact the heating element. The sticks, made of steel, get EXTREMELY hot very very fast. Faster than I ever imagined.

Hey Steve, I’m a long time Firebox fan. In fact I bought and still use my Gen 1 Firebox. Do you sell the accessories separately or as a kit? For instance I’m looking at the extended grill and a couple of fire sticks only. Do they sell individually or do I have to buy a combo or kit? Still enjoying the original as is. Call me old school. You’ve got a great product and I enjoy your instructional videos. Keep on cranking them out. By the way, Maggie is as cute as heck but she looks like a Heinz 57 mutt (the best kind).
