Thank you for your summarised informations about the Civs! I only played Rus and I was kinda awed about the other civs and thought there is too much micromanagement, but you encouraged me to try out all civs. I'm an absolute casual player in AOE but nontheless I think I must play perfectly from the start and I know thats counterproductive, because in the first line I should enjoy the game and not having all the pros in my head.

As Dehli you can actually do pretty well against Malians if you go Tower of victory and house of learning, In feudal your spears and bows attack much faster including healing from scholars. In Castle age and Imperial you basically print MAA Crossbow/Cannon with Knights and Mangonels. Very import is to go very early for the ability to put scholars into buildings, that what makes Dehli a pretty brutal printer. Elefant units are current not worth their time and costs, MAA with ToV and weapon upgrade from house of learning perform so much better.

I started with onetricking abbasid, then I got delhi as the berry bonus was the same. When ottomans got released I tried those as well. I literally have NEVER gathered boar in my life. When I tried french for the first time I was so lost on how to get food without the good berries.

Abbasid most like zerg? Maybe macro wise in that they're the 2 sides that can viably go fast 3hatch/3tc, then spam cheap units and take bad trades and not care because of their eco. Also in the fact that you build all your buildings in a connected group.

But the civ I always compare to zerg is mongols. Towers out on the map giving speed boost and vision feels like creep spread. Dictating the match with early aggression with higher mobility melee units in the very early game is the trademark of zerg and mongols. Double producing horsemen feels just like how zerglings double produce to me. Also, not being able to wall gang reporting in.

I see the parallels between abbasid/zerg but mongols get my vote for most zerg like. Abbasid has zerg macro but Mongols have zerg aggression and core game mechanics.

I want to like Rus so much but they were by far the most frustrating to play when I was doing their masteries. Got a few left on china to wrap all of the civs up and then going to pick 1 or 2 civs to main and I can't decide haha.

How do you get double unit production with Mongol? I put stable next to ovoo and only one unit comes. Do I need to select something? Sorry I'm new to the game 😂
