A girl I knew in my industrial engineering class literally had an Excel spreadsheet of every item in her wardrobe, that randomly selected a few pieces, and she'd wear it for the day. She had some wild ass fits that would always get comments. Sure they'd look amazing sometimes and funky other times, but that was just her 'thing, ' and she pulled it off specifically because it was her 'thing.' But even as someone that's been doing the uniform idea for 7-ish years, I hella admired how simple and effective her approach was

Adore this concept, it’s giving “what I would wear if I was a cartoon character” or a “what’s your ghost outfit when you die” to simplify it even more lol

in an era where social media makes us go from one microtrend to another, Christian’s advice of creating a minimalistic uniform is an effective way to participate in slow fashion and lessen overconsumption : D it also makes u look cool and effortless god dammit

The biggest style technique I had learned was that no one cares about what I wear and everything I do with my life is meaningless

Christian looks great! Can see he's been taking care of himself. Good shit.

I think this is one of those epiphanies, that loads of people, that are into fashion, mature into at some point.
Even though it's great to be original and have crazy fits it is often more practical not to be uncomfortable in clothing just to be fashionable or to spend an eternity putting an outfit together every morning just to stand out.
This minimalist approach of wearing something, that's not only comfortable to move in but something that represents your vibe and lifestyle is something I'm grateful to have possessed ever since I started caring more about the clothes that are on me.
Overthinking fashion is a rough way of living; especially for your mind and wallet.
To each their own of course.

EDIT: I've added punctuation and grammar to this comment because weirdos on the internet care about grammar in a youtube comment section like they're grading GCSE exams. The comment has been tidied up to alleviate and prevent further and future eyesores.

building a uniform type closet also allows us to "create your own style"

I've been doing the "uniform" thing ever since I watched that interview with Vivienne Westwood. Her whole outlook on fashion is buy less wear things a lot and make them your own status pieces. I always loved that idea.

so far along the spectrum he circled back to jeans and a t-shirt

starting fashion NG+ lmao

This is what I've been doing this summer and I love it. I found this one skirt and it is absolutely perfect, so I bought it in 3 different colours. Also I found some cute tops that go with it perfectly. So now I wear skirts all the time (and occasionally a dress) and I get compliments from people all the time. Even my bf compliments me, and he usually doesn't notice anything about my outfits. It's so easy to throw this uniform on in the morning, I really don't have to think about it and I look great every single time. Now I'll have to figure out a fall/winter uniform, which is much more difficult because I need more layers. Wish me luck boys.

A friend told me a while ago "yeah, but everything looks good on you" and oh MAN was it a bad trip thinking about how many years I struggled with finding the right fit for basically anything I wear.

Trimming everything down to the point where "which colours go together" is the only actual choice I have to make makes things SO much easier.

normalizing uniforms is a good thing, I been on this wave for like half my life, switch up the silhouette when needed but generally have treated my wardrobe as a capsule since highschool, only problem is I have this idea but three different phases because of MI weather, I got the summer, winter, and spring/fall silhouettes, complicates the closet a bit, but still relatively minimal & yes I'm ADHD

Feels nice to see you make a video thats basically been my philosophy in dressing ever since i started to care about it. Looking clean and wearing things that fit you instead of following what others are wearing and what people will be hyped about, like the street wear supreme time and now oversized clothes with jordans look.

i am struggling with ADHD myself and finding the right outfit always has been a disaster. i was buying lots of clothes just to feel stupid in them few days later and never wearing them again. after this video i was able to find clothes I truly like, which made shopping and living much easier. thank you :))

I like this video, seems like you’ve matured a lot in your fashion. this is great advice for beginners who will buy so many clothes to fit their next interests

This is so true. I have done this with 2000s era midi skirts that I've thrifted. I have a few and they go with all my tops which means I never have hesitation getting ready now.

my entire college career has been this. distressed black denim, white cropped tee/black cropped tee, light colour shoe. and i still get complimented on my “fits”. lol

I came up with such a rockstar fit the other day by using the uniform system. Switched out the daily driver skirt for a funky one thats been in my closet forever and felt so cool lol.

Every style is a person's uniform in a sense. Even when that uniform may not match. It's an expression of who we are and a statement all in one. Been swagger boosting since swagga was swagg
