I had a "satan moment" similar to what the host did with the Hammer doll. Years ago, my copies of Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal all had dead memory batteries. I sold them all to GameStop. Of course, they worked just fine when tested, but they couldn't hold a save.

If I got that box with all the screws I'd just hang onto it and tell the giver how much I like the modern art sculpture they gave me. Then if they tried to explain what it actually was I'd gush over how it's a brilliant statement about how some people have to work incredible hard for what they have while others simply tear off some paper and tape. No material good could be worth disassembling such a brilliant work of art.

for the first one, to add immersion you should add the "current elevator floor" thing and forced them to wait it to "go down".
it will slowly ticks down from (for example) 10 with 1 seconds interval and when it reach first floor, add a ding sound.
after the "elevator" closes, make the "current floor" tick up to the "max floor" and repeat.

Dude, when my ex and I were working a fireworks store with a friend of his he pulled that joke. He meant it for my ex, but he got me. He told my ex he had never been so scared in his life. He bought her a tablet, took it out the box and hid it, then bought a bar of tablet (a Scottish candy a bit like fudge but crumbly and even the smell of it makes your teeth hurt) and put that in instead. The face journey when she opened the wrapping, then the box, then saw my dad trying to keep a straight face was priceless.
