Anyone who asks me what the FD1 is like, I tell them, Brinster teebird. Really glad to see someone finally show the comparison!

While I understand that being an Innova contract brand was the barrier to an optimized design, I think it's disingenuous to frame the video as Innova holding back Discmania. "We need to copy an Innova disc" is a DM problem, not an Innova problem.

The mold I have for this shot is a Discraft Z Stalker. I love the mold has that fairway size rim in a midrange feel to the disc, it flies like no other, straight for the entire flight with high fade at the end that still pushes forward.

I was just noticing yesterday that 2 years ago I didn’t throw any DM discs. Now that they are pumping out their own molds with their own plastics I’ve got 4 DM discs. If they keep on this train of getting back their classic molds and releasing them in C & S Line I think DM will be a top selling disc golf company in a couple more years. Once the Tactic, all their CD, PD and DD discs are out in stock C & S Line it’s over.

Digging the in-depth analysis! I have a Teebird and Instinct that fly noticeably different as you said, but I could never figure out why, because they are almost identical with very close to the same PLH height. Never thought about the rounded edge. Glad to come across this and keep it in mind while comparing discs. Flight physics are fun :)

The best is the 3 tooled FD2. Gets a little flip brand new, still finishes left, and a really flat top. The FD1 is a great compliment to the 3 tooled

Great video as always! I understand your point about the struggle to get the FD2 where they wanted it. I will say though, I am currently lucky enough to bag a Royal Rage I (third-tooled FD2) and it is hands down the best disc I have ever thrown! Keep up the great content!

Nice review! Instinct definitely has different uses than the teebird imo. I was using a lux instinct in the "FD slot" until they released the new FD. I also bag the Teebird3 and love it.

I’ve been using the fd1 as a compliment to my teebirds. I’ve noticed with my champ teebird that if I throw it on anhyzer it’s gonna hold for a bit then pan out and land flat. The fd1 will just get to flat then start fading.

Great little history segment as well as the review. This video seemed very natural and organic. Well done my friend

I bag the neo Instinct for that slot.
Used to bag a teebird, and I can honestly say nothing flies like a Teebird… with that said, I love my instinct because it consolidates that shot really well. In other words, it’s more reliable at doing one thing exceptionally well, instead of being a little more versatile like the Teebird. To complement it, I throw a JLS for straight shots. Disc up to a Proton Volt for a longer shot with fade.

that brinster teebird is so pretty with all the swirls!

the FD2 was my jam but had to replace it with the TSA Votum since they were hard to replace...foot fault

DD3 is a detroyer wing with Anhyzer top, not just an old destroyer. the Scorpius is the pre-AJ original Destroyer

The Innova-made C-Line FD2 I've thrown was practically identical to my Champion TeeBird. The one I've seen that my friend has flies just like one. I think it's the 2019 run. It's domey and beefy.

Great video! Love the history. You sold me. I still have a stack of maybe four brinsters… freaking can’t wait to get a couple of these fd1s to compare.

Finally someone compares something to a Brinster Teebird. They are the best teebird IMO. Might have to try one of these out.

Great video my dude. For future reference, Forge instincts came out like a beat in neo out the box. They are quite a bit more understandable compared to the other instincts. I bagged a forge Neo and meta and now that the fd/fd1 line is a little more polished I’ve switched up to that line of disc. But, when it comes to instincts, those forge ones are a much different animal compared to a new Neo and especially against a meta. Also (and I’m not positive here but I had a conversation with a guy last week that claimed to have them all) apparently the fd2 went through 5 different retoolings 😳 crazy

So, what you are saying is...that new FD1 is more overstable than a Teebird and has less glide, so not the same as a Teebird.

I have some bad news I bought a new teebird 3 yesterday, and they have been retooled. I've bagged 3 for years, and went to Hazy Shade and noticed the new 3 molds are domey, and the innova manufacturer fonts on the bottom of the disc are different.
I bought a max weight star teebird3 and flipped over in zero wind. I still have last years Barela teebird. I had my 980 rated friend throw it flat and it was flying like a sidewinder
