NEW Board Flattening Router Jig

Показать описание
Perfectly sized to fit on a workbench or shop stand for routing flat faces on smaller slabs, end-grain cutting boards or resin charcuterie boards—no need for a large planer or drum sander!

Working with live edge slabs can yield truly unique projects that showcase swirling continuous grain. But without a very large planer and jointer, flattening and smoothing a rough slab can be very difficult indeed. That's where our Benchtop Board Flattening Jig really shines. Set it up on a flat, level stand measuring at least 25'' x 40'' and set up your slab inside the frame.

Thanks for the video, learned a lot from the last part about the grain.

I needed to plane ¾" boards to ½" but I don't have a planer, so I built a flattening jig to accomplish the same thing. If you count how many times I modified either of the jigs or sleds, then I made then four or five of them. If I had known about this before I made the first one I would have saved the time and money and purchased it.

Since I'm not totally satisfied with the final iteration of the second complete flattening jig and I don't want to spend any more time, let alone money, I'll probably buy one of these. I hope I catch it on sale though. 😊

Slab flattening can be a very messy job. I didn't see any kind of dust collection for the carriage. Is there anything being considered? Collection done on just the router would not be enough so we'll need something to contain and collect the chips.

I can’t find a video anywhere showing how to micro adjust the the carriage fit so that it slides, smoothly left and right.

I have one, it works well. However, I wish there was an adjustment for slabs UNDER 1 3/4” . I have to shim under thinner pieces, requiring another setup.

Is there a shim kit available to increase the rail height for flattening thicker slabs or would a 2"x2" blank work? I haven't seen any videos or information showing how to do this. I would like to use this to flatten a 2x4 bench top of 3.5". Thanks

I can’t find the tie blocks on the website

How do you ensure that all corners are level and not twisted? The aluminium profiles can all be straight, but the whole thing only makes sense if it is not twisted in on itself 🧐🤔🤔
