This is what I did but I cut furring strip to fit inside and waxed it. It helped a lot.

Like the concept, I will try it in my workshop. If you sized the metal side rails to the width of the table and reversed the end stops so that they acted as guides against the timber rails, that would help the prevent twist in the event of a kick from the router. Hope that is clear enough to be understood.

Did you just put two 2x4 from some big box store and use those as a reference plans without making sure they match up first? Wut. How is this going to be accurate at all
