More accurate title: "Shark ignores swimmers"

That shark was clearly chasing something underneath the water. He wanted nothing to do with those swimmers

If I am in the water and I hear that music I know it’s time for me to get out of the water 😂😂😂

For everyone who said Hammerhead, you were correct. It is a hammer looking for rays and is completely unconcerned bout the humans. Hammerheads don't often attack a human, they are few and far between but can be some of the worst bites as far as torn flesh goes, because of the location of its mouth and how it bites. If anyone was curious about how to identify different species of shark, a lot can be deciphered by dorsal fins and the tail. The placement and style of the dorsal are not fail-proof so knowing the difference in tails can help narrow it down from there.

When swimming in the ocean, prepare to meet the locals.

When my son was 3 and playing in a shallow part of the water, a fin starts coming straight at him. I put my baby down and ran to him so fast. The fin was the flipper of a baby seal, and the seal just wanted to play with Adam. Animals have always trusted and loved him. Now he's a zoologist.

That's what you need to do. Stay calm and your chances of avoiding a bite go way up. I know from personal experience. Had a tiger shark swim right up under me in Maui. Stayed with me. I stayed calm. Slowly turned my body around and only using a calm breaststroke, no kicking, made my way toward the shore.

Thing is, the tiger shark turned with me and swam about 3 feet under me, just gliding with me, until I reached water too shallow for it. It was like it was escorting me out of the water.

I know they are known to be quite aggressive, but I was lucky. I remained calm. The shark stayed calm, and in the end, it was a peaceful exchange.

Phew! 😮‍💨

If that shark wanted to attack the swimmers it would have done it.

Those people in the water played it cool and did the right thing. Stay calm and swim smoothly towards shore like your not scared, even if you are scared

Swimmers: Oh my god, it's shark, we're all gonna die!!
Shark: Hi, I'm Bruce. So where y'all from?

It was a hammerhead. You can tell by the quick back and forth movements. They seek out rays for most of their diet which is why they get close to shore.

That has happened to me before. It is the most terrifying thing ever. It happened when I was in my early 20's. I am now in my 60's and have never gone back into the sea since.

If you don't want to meet a shark, stay out of their environment (ocean), period! 😊

A shark is not your friend. I have seen a young man, the right side of his abdomen was completely torn off. He died. A young boy of 14, the left side, the arm and left side including his heart, completely ripped off. Then there was Julia, her left arm completely ripped off. She survived. This happened within a month on the South coast in South Africa in Dec. 1957. No shark nets yet. I was 18, now 84, I saw one of the victims, that was not a pretty picture. He died in the ambulance on his way to the hospital.

I used to be one of those people who swam in the ocean and thought it was fine… then I went swimming in Galveston Bay in 2000.. I was shoulder deep and watching the waves come in. Suddenly, I noticed that when the waves curled that it was no longer a beautiful light blue but black for as far as I could see. I turned to see everyone on the beach waving their arms which is universally recognized as “get out of the water!” That terror that grips you is indescribable. I started swimming back toward the beach, waiting for something to grab me and pull me under. When I finally reached the shore I was so relieved. The next morning on the front page of the paper was an aerial shot of the beach and the water. About 40 yards off the beach was a mile long shark feeding frenzy!! I’ve never been back in the water since.

I was a waiter at Long John Silver's so I'm a bit of an expert on sea life. It was definitely a shark and it was in the ocean
