I thought you weren't supposed to use ratchet wrenches to loosen bolts due to the ratchet mechanism being weaker than a regular wrench

I guess you could use a Spanner Wrench like that. At least you know what a Spanner Wrench is.

Imagine spending $135 on an OTC pin spanner wrench set just to use it once or twice. I’m just going to make one from an adjustable wrench by drilling two holes for two hardened pins. (For a water pump).
