Remember, after adding yourself as sudo, always to do a logout, then login again in order for this to work, thanks for the video it is very, very helpful and the instructions are easy to follow and it does work!

I was always told to use visudo when editing the sudoer file.

Great job ! Just you should have explained how we use vi cause beginners like me had to go watch another video to know how to use vi and come back again.

I bet you should not really use _vi_ command on /etc/sudoers . If anything goes wrong you may have no access to root anymore

This is ok. But if you don't like using vi or have trouble with it just use usermod command.

Right on the money. I could not save as he ended with ":wq> so I saved Ctrl/X and yes to end. I am on Debian 12 Linux debian 6.1.0-18-amd64

what editor are you using I can only access this file via visudo if I access sudoers file with your method I can get in but I don't know how to exit the editor please comment this issue also what is sudoers.d and how to work with that please explain thanks

Its too dangerous to use vi command for /etc/sudoers. It can make u lose sudo access

You should change the permission of /etc/sudoers file WITH ROOT ROLE before vi it!

Here is the issue for beginners like myself. You are saving and logging out but you are not telling us or showing how to properly or log out at all. Don't you think that should be in the video in detail?
