I am in my 70s and observed how farm families ate in my childhood. The men got up early to go to the barn, feed the animals, and milk the cows. They usually had a cup of hot tea or coffee before this, and returned when all was done to have a solid breakfast of eggs, meat, porridge, and toast. The mid-day meal was also heavy and the evening meal was light, often cold.

I'm finding it easy to fast for 18 hours — eat dinner at 6 p.m. and delay eating until the next day at noon. This video gives the technical basis of why that works so well.

If you don’t have time in the morning try preparing boiled eggs the night before and put them in the fridge in a container. Then just grab the container on your way out the door, you can eat the eggs whenever you feel hungry.

I went from 297 lbs to 210 lbs in under 5 months eating once a day. I started with a 36 hour fast per Dr Fung. I ate one can of black refried beans and a can of green beans. Switched out the black beans with a can of clam chowder every other week. I kept 1/4” slices of Italian roast beef in the fridge for a snak if I was to get hungry. I paddled a touring kayak every weekend and a couple of times during the week. I tried riding my mountain bike which I love doing but it made me very hungry so I stopped. The kayak I found simple effortless and really burned cals and gave me rapid core strength. It’s the way to go. I’m 61 and feel great but not 28 !! Lol

Finally a doctor who knows the reason why and approves of a very late breakfast! I’m never hungry in the morning and am so, so tired of hearing…breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Everyone gives me such a hard time about not wanting anything until 11 or 12. Now I’m armed with Dr. Fung’s explanation and I can tell them all that it’s my hormones. And I will!!

when I started Keto last July 2021 I went OMAD almost immediately. I believe I was halfway into Keto without knowing it anyway. I found it very easy to do. I also didn't suffer the "Keto Flu" symptoms. By April I had lost 40 lbs and that wasn't my goal. I just wanted to eat healthily and lose a few pounds from 205 to say 190 crazy how the weight just flew off. I now maintain 170-175. An Inbody scan showed me 12% body fat and a level 4 visceral fat. Doc said that was an amazingly low VF #. I wish I had done the scan prior to the change. I am now a Ketovore and love eating more meat. Feel good and have plenty of energy. I am a carpenter 60 yrs old and I'm the guy installing the plywood on the roof LOL. Jason, you are one of the few doc's online I watch and learn from thanks
