Trump's plan to cut his own taxes

The proposed budgets in Congress will make Trump even richer.

The Trump Organization is the 48th-largest private company in the US, and brought in $9.5 billion in revenue in 2016. But the Trump Organization doesn't pay taxes like a big corporation. It's a special kind of entity called a "pass-through" business.

The designation was originally for small-business owners to bypass corporate taxes and only pay the individual tax rate. Now huge corporations are also taking advantage.

My parents founded a small business. Despite business being good, there have been times when the tax and regulatory burdens have been so great that they nearly forced my parents to shut the business down (it barely survived the Obama-era healthcare overhaul). That would have meant putting about 18 people out of work, who otherwise get paid enough to get by.
Owning a business doesn't make you a bad person. My parents are not greedy. Times are better now for the business, and its starting wage has increased 60% from 4 years ago.

Letting someone who runs a massive corporation decide how massive corporations should be taxed seems to me like the equivalent of giving a bag of chocolate to a five year old and letting him choose how he wants to share them among his siblings.

The corporate tax rate is pretty high in the US, but lowering does not guarantee large corporations will come back to the US.
