What if the Confederacy of Independent Systems didn't have the backing of powerful corporate entities like the trade federation and techno union? What if they didn't have access to their powerful droid army?

The Clone Wars were fought not just with Clones and Droids, but with millions of other types of combatants like regular militas units that no doubt fought in so many different types of battlefronts.

Strategically they should have used both. Droids fulfilling the role conscripts used to. And then a highly elite and intelligent corp of volunteers for more aggressive and difficult operations as well as special forces missions like starting insurgencies behind enemy lines. Then having organic officers over formations bigger then a platoon would have definitely introduced more tactical flexibility and reduced predictability. Since after awhile the clones figured out that all droids think the same and therefore the same trick will work over and over and over again. Where as no two organic officers think the same and they’re harder to predict. Granted this would make it much harder for Grievous to commit war crimes as people who are actually fighting for the separatist cause would logically question orders that make them look worse then the republic. And they’re going to be very confused on why they’re going conquering planets that don’t bring the war closer to an end when the objective is separation and not conquest and they merely need to sieze coruscant and force the republic to recognize their government. All this will filter back to the home front and Dooku is going to lose support as the separatist organic population realized something’s seriously wrong. Hence why organic participation was kept to an absolute minimum.

I'd low-key fight for The CIS if it wasn't an elaborate Sith plot

One other thing I’d think you’d see would be a massive inflation of non-clones into the Republic’s military. I can just imagine the separatists’ messaging “We’re willing to fight and die for what we believe in, but the fat cats in the Republic would rather send in clones than fight for their ideals!” That would most likely stir up a lot of patriotism and inflame tensions to the point where they’d see a whole of volunteer soldiers. Maybe even enough to the point where they’d start trying to phase out the clones early.

Also, the lack of the massive droid army may deter the Jedi from engaging in combat and instead they might attempt peaceful negotiations or mostly step back from the conflict. Another route might be a schism where many Jedi side with the Separatists out of the view that the Republic had become too corrupt to defend.

Then the iconic "roger roger" from the droids will cease to exist

I guess Palpatine really created the no-win scenario for the Jedi. Judging from the fact in this video that if the Separatists Alliance use troops made of sentient beings, many within the Jedi Order will definitely either defect or even cause another Jedi Civil War in a middle of the Clones Wars. And I guess Palpatine can use this new Jedi Civil War to his advantage while those who left to join Count Dooku's cause will be branded as traitors by the Republic.

If the CIS used a mixture of droids and Trained organic soldiers, i reckon the CIS would have had an easier time gaining support and more control on the frontlines instead relying on the droid coding, a organic soldier could give our orders to droids to move where they need them most.

An advantage of the Seps using Droids for Palpatine was that they could be deactivated en masse - as was the case when Anaking/Vader killed the remaining leaders on Mustafar and began deactivating the droid armies. No mop up operations, Palp's army is the last on the field and his control secured.

I wonder how the Clones would’ve felt fighting against flesh and blood over incompetent clankers?

What if both sides used clones? When I first heard of the "Clone Wars" I imagined both sides relying on them.

200, 000 clones is such a crazy small number for a galactic army, like the marine corps is 178, 500 strong (active duty) in 2022, and that's the small branch of the US military

It would have been nice for the separatists to use other aliens to help with the world building of this series

We see pro-separatist PDF's in SWTCW: Geonosian PDF's to be exact. Ki Adi Mundi ordered to burn them via flamethrowers. Name "Adi" gains a new meaning when you realy think about it....

(sorry for my bad english)

They did have organic armies. Umbarra and the Quarren were just 2 examples of the many thousands of worlds with their own armies. But I'm pretty sure the navy, or shall i say Offensive attacks were done by the droid army. While the planets militias were like a second line of defense. In legends as well as cannon. After the rise of the empire many worlds refused to kneel so the military was called in to face mainly organic opponents since the droid army was shut down. Its the same for the republic. Clones were the most aggressive attacks during the war with republic soldiers and local planetary militias holding ground. and the republic only had 10-20 million of these clones so they probably enlisted a few billion soldiers.

So instead of massive set piece battles, we'll see skirmishes between clones, jedi, and Separatist rebels. I could see special forces like the clone commandos playing a big part in this war.

If the majority of Separatist citizens weren’t actually willing to fight, clearly they didn’t care that badly about leaving the Republic.

I kinda wish they had leaned into the idea of conscription and the use of living volunteers on the part of the CIS and even the Republic. It could have been a great opportunity to explore the strain that an actual war footing puts on a society and government.

Imagine if dooku had built his own jedi order, he had enough knowledge and experience to do so.

The republic had a miserable time fighting sentient combatants. The clones grew way too complacent fighting predictable battle droids. Every time the clones had to fight an abnormal droid like the commando droids or General Kalani they lost. Bad. Sentient enemies were unpredictable, usually willing to fight in ways the clones had never dealt with. Not to mention the Jedi would likely have to back out of the war to avoid butchering entire groups of living people so the Jedi plot armor goes with them
