5 BAD HABITS from Medical School #SHORTS

Показать описание
These are the 5 bad habits I learned from medical school. First, I eat way too fast even today, because you're constantly trying to scarf down food in the few minutes you have between patients or cases in the operating room.
Second, I got too comfortable with sleep deprivation and it was normalized. It took me 2 years after leaving plastic surgery to get used to sleeping more and not feeling weird about it.
Third, I'm still desensitized to nasty things while eating, and if I'm eating with others who aren't in medicine, I sometimes get protest to not discuss certain less than appetizing things at the dinner table.
Fourth, I was too career and achievement-focused, something that's heavily emphasized in medicine, particularly in surgery. I didn't spend enough time or effort reflecting on what I wanted out of life.
And fifth, I grew more impatient because time was always scarce. I felt always "on" and wasn't able to slow down or unplug. Today I have to remind myself there's no need to rush.
