What Are the Steps in The I-485 Process? Requirements of Adjustment of Immigration Status
Показать описание
How long does adjustment of status take? | What are the steps in I-485 Process? | How long does it take for I-485 to be approved? | Adjustment of status requirements | Adjustment of status after marriage | I-485 list of supporting documents
The Adjustment of Status process begins when an applicant is eligible to adjust status and is physically present in the U.S.
There are other eligibility factors that have to be verified before applying but the main ones are that the applicant has been admitted and inspected to the U.S. or admitted and paroled to the U.S.
Generally, the first step of applying is filing Form I-485 other applicable forms with it and a long list of other supporting documents.
The last step of the adjustment of status journey is attending the in-person interview with the immigration service.
This interview is meant to establish whether an applicant is really eligible to adjust status in the U.S. and to flag for any possible fraud or admissibility issue.
I have represented a lot of clients who have first attempted to navigate this process by themselves, and then later ended up having to respond to a request for evidence which in turn delays their case further or have even gotten denied.
So this is why it is so important to have the right strategy and preparation right from the very beginning.
I hope I was able to provide some guidance about this process. So if you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to consult with you and hopefully make this process easier for you.
