The animated film is based on the poem of the same name in three acts "Forest Song" by Lesya Ukrainka. The play was written in 1911 in the city of Kutaisi, and was first staged on November 22, 1918 at the Kyiv Drama Theater. The work is one of the first prototypes of fantasy in Ukrainian literature.

I literally found this trailer by accident, because i was googling stuff for my work about slavic mythology. I am literally doing my work, because of how unappreciated this mythology is, especially here, in Slovakia. Thank you for doing this animated film and bringing part of our culture in there.

I've already seen this cartoon in the cinema, I really liked it. It's so soulful, I felt like a kid watching it. And the visual part is beyond praise. I recommend it to everyone, although of course the original in Ukrainian sounds 10 times better.
