CVPH Honor Walk

We are incredibly touched by the selfless gift given by one of the patients at our health care partner Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital. The patient saved two lives by donating his kidneys. The staff at CVPH paid tribute to that man’s gift by holding an honor walk as he was taken on his final journey to the operating room. You can see the honor walk, hear how meaningful it is to staff and the patient’s loved ones, and learn about the impact that organ donation can have. Honor walks happen at hospitals across the UVM Health Network when a patient donates organs at end of their life. These somber events are rarely filmed, and photos and cell phones are not allowed. Special permission was given for this event to show the gift made by this donor.

With everyone involved with the organs they get paid. You would think a family would get paid as it will cover burial costs/other costs. It's not greed its helping the family. In addition, the medical bills would be a great help. The hospital staff and costs can decrease to cover the family's portion.
