Love these tips. I’m a wife, mom of 3 and a teacher. I get up super early 4:45 am workout and get to work at 6:30 am which is 1 1/2 hours before my contract starts to get my grading and lesson plans done. People think I’m crazy, but by doing this I’m able to be wifey and mom when I get home and not worry take any time away from my family because I do all that stuff while they’re still sleeping.

Can I just say shooting for B+ made me cry. I’m always worrying about having everything be A+ that hardly anything ever is anymore and it’s making me so very unhappy. Thank you for saying this! I just need to remind myself :)

I love the last tip of "B+ is your goal. Anything higher is a bonus." I am naturally a bit of a perfectionist and a few years ago I hit a wall and began having some anxiety issues. One of the things that helped me so much with getting back in balance was adopting a similar mantra, "Good enough is good enough!" Thanks for the tips!

Sorry my comment has nothing to do with the video but I’ve got two questions:
1.: At what age do your kids start to be in their shared rooms together? How do you manage that they don’t disturb each other?
2.: When they do no longer nap (I know yours nap very long :-) ), how do you teach them to do their “quiet time” on their own?
Thanks a lot!
Ps great work you are doing!!! :-)

This is so helpful. I love your philosophy with parenting! You do not shame, you reduce stigma, you give great advise! Thank you for including dads and saying parents instead of making the whole thing directed at women/mom. I just became a mom 3 weeks ago but as a non-mom I enjoyed your parenting content for YEARS!

i'm 19 and have watched you for over 2 years now. you make me even more excited to have a family than i already was... not because i think it will be picture perfect but because you teach us the little struggles of motherhood, how to gracefully work around them, and enjoy the chaos <3

Tips for work/life balance
1. Create a block schedule
2. Say the phrase "I am at work" often
3. Be ALL IN (if the time block is for family be with the family all of you don't get distracted same is for work)
4. Freezer meals
5..carpool
6. Have one on one time with each kid and with spouse
7. Tell things to wait their turn
8. Get help
9. Shoot for B+ forget the A "let it gooo"

Also helpful: notify people around you that they CANNOT disturb you when you're working as soon as you can. It'll save you the offense that they'd take if you hadn't. Let them know that you're very serious about it as early into relationship as you can to avoid some frustration and bad vibes. Tell them that if you work on your 100 now there'll be more time for them later. TELL THEM

Good tips, I work full-time with two kids aged 9 and 2, and I work full-time outside the home and I am a single parent. My goal is to have balance and its a work in progress....I will try these tips thanks

YESSS to the 'I'm at work' phrase! haha Some of our family members just think my husband and I are 'home all day' and are free to watch their kids or be at their beck and call 24/7 etc. because what else are we doing?! haha We've had to literally tell them- we WORK at home we are not sitting around all day doing nothing. haha why this has to be explained is beyond me but there is definitely a level of respect when you tell someone you're working rather than 'on my computer' etc. Yes.... even if some family members STILL don't understand it. Whatever. hah.

I love your time blocks! They are the opposite of multitasking because you are focused on one task at a time and more focused than you could be otherwise. Love it!

I'm studying to get my doctorate, and finding a school/life balance is REALLY hard! I saw your previous block schedule video and am trying it out this summer. Still tweaking it, (need more study time..) but THANK YOU for the awesome idea!

I'm newly married (Dec 2018) and I have been watching your channel for almost 2 years. I watch my nephews during the week as well. Because of you, your programs and your amazing husband I was able to get my husband excited to get debt free. He is so excited to start emergency preparedness (thank you Bubba!) And i just wanted to tell you that you're my "celebrity crush" you're my inspiration to be the best "mother" and best wife I can be. Thank you ❤

" the laundry machine"...
Otherwise known as the the washing machine.
But, honestly, i am a "work from home mom" & so far this is the only video ive found on youtube about this subject that gives GOOD, real, tips. Not things like, " light a candle to relax" ... or... " make your bed. " It's actionable steps!
