One important note: You need to decompose all such clips before the final rendering (unless you use target resolution and quality while rendering in place). You can select all clips, no need to do it one by one. So it is probably better using the normal editing cache for such simple use cases. I am using render in place for green screening as I need to edit it later and the cache would not be suitable for this.

Would upgrading the GPU help with fusion effect rendering? The machine I am currently on has 12700KF with 32 GB of ddr4 ram 3200MHz and a GTX 1660ti.

I wish there was a setting for render cache inbetween the "in and out" or the timeline

Fusion renders in memory, but edit page smart cashing on a predefined space of you’re harddisk.
