I went into the master settings and scrolled down to "optimised media and render cache" and changed "proxy media format" to H.264 and it fixed it for me

I am using mostly raw MP3s. No audio-attached videos, so there is no "original framerate" I think. It happens only on Stereo-audio for me. When it's mono, it doesn't get choppy and laggy like that, but then again when I use mono it usually gets out only on one ear so I need to be stereo

I see it solved for a lot of people, not for me though, I've tries all the settings and framerates, nothing worked, I have the same choppy sound.. I'm Running DR from an m.2 SSD with 3000mb/s speed, w 16gb RAM, and still it cannot play anything in edit mode.. Tried adjusting cache, giving it more space / memory, etc.. Only in Edit mode playback..
