Some puffiness is expected. But make sure you are cleaning plaque (fuzzy stuff) off your teeth or bad stuff can happen to your teeth!

Also, schedule regular cleanings with your hygienist, especially during your time in braces!

this happened to me a couple of weeks ago, it was so sore i couldn’t eat on that side of my mouth even though it was only swollen at the front corner. me being me i didn’t make a big deal, and it went down about a week later anyway, oops :)

WHAT wait when you get braces your gums swell up and you have to do salt water swishes😫. The only resin whey I’m saying this is because about a month ago I had to get my gums cut to get to my Teeth that we’re going crooked and not down to rot my baby teeth and for the hole not get infected so I had to do that about 6 times and day which did NOT taste good so ya have a good day😂.

Hypersensitivity usually will involve the corners of your mouth. Hyperplastic gingiva with braces is common and can be taken care of with hydrogen peroxide mouthwash. Usually subsides with regular scaling. Allergy can be one of the causes but not always.

Which is why I wore two brackets without wires for two days to make sure I wasn’t allergic it also helped me realize how getting them on doesn’t hurt that bad but taking them off is kinda a pain
