That’s why I thankful for my old high school weight room moderator/art teacher.
He was jacked & always stressed proper form & control when doing movements.(start to finish) Master that before you start doing any targeted advance workouts.

lol he would call out anybody he saw ego lifting 80lbs bicep curls when they could barely lift 50 with proper/control form

This channel has solid advice.

That’s funny. I was just trying a new split and it said 20 reps and I had been used to 8-10. Prefect timing of a video

As a newbie, this still confuses the hell outta me. I think the worry for most people is not wasting your time in the gym. The last thing people like myself want is to commit so much time to doing the wrong thing.

For now, I see more research behind consistently getting stronger, but I see the obvious logic in making sure you don't sacrifice form. I'm gonna stick with heavy weights at 10 to 12 reps. 1 because even if I don't meet physique goals, I will be happy getting stronger. 2. Maybe this might be the best of both worlds. I have to progress, but I also need to get to use the right weight in order to do that many reps. Already so far, I can see how long it takes to just progress a little strength
