It really is like looking at some kind of alternate reality except one is filled with melancholy hopelessness and the other has redead zombies everywhere.

Reality has better lightning, textures, ao, and reflections. But it also has way less gameplay features, like no respawn, fast travel or autosave

The graphics are insane, finished the game and mindblown of how smooth it is considering every new AAA are broken at launch.

I genuinely got lost in some comparisons about what was real life and what was the game, I didn't imagine that this game was so photorealistic until I saw it side by side with real life, my God!

The level design team has done such an amazing work indeed. very detailed and very similar to the referenced locations.

It’s about as close to a 1:1 representation as you could possibly get with an AAA video game in 2023.
I can’t even begin to imagine the kind of absolute psychos Dambuster hired for their environment design team.

I loved Dead Island 2, definitely one of my favorite zombie games.
The detail on these LA locations, my god!
Hope in a DLC we’re able to see more districts.

Been playing the game for a couple of days and was blown away by the graphics and wondered if it actually looks like the places and it does. Almost identical such a fun game so far.. keep up the good work 👏

I lived in L.A. for 2 years from 2017-2019. When the first small earthquake hit at the beginning of the game in Bel-air I was like “ok that’s surprisingly realistic” also Bruno’s character design… holy crap like 80% of people in L.A. look just like that. Like…creepy hipster clones or something.

Me sorprende que un juego AA llegué a alcanzar el fotorrealismo en ciertas zonas y que graficos asi esten tan bien optimizados en todas las plataformas

The details are insane. I haven't seen anything like this. I actually had to look twice to make sure which one was real. Wow.

Funny thing is that I’ve been to every single place in this video except for the Beverly Hills hotel. I’m from Los Angeles California by the way and been doing Uber and door dash for 3 years and that’s why I’ve been all over these areas. I love my California no matter what haters say!

Venice Beach and Santa Monica both look super realistic in Dead Island 2, I always keep coming back there and kill zombies there only because how amazing it looks

What a fun video! So well done! Having already spent many long hours playing Dead Island 2 (I’ve platinum’ed it on 5 different PSN accounts already, and am working on 3 more - I have multiple PSN accounts specifically because I enjoy re-playing my favorite games from scratch), but don’t have much real life experience with these locations. I have been to a few of them briefly, and spent a long day enjoying Santa Monica beach and pier a few months ago. On a side note: I paid 40.00 for an all-day unlimited ride pass, specifically ONLY to ride the Ferris Wheel (nothing else) only to discover that I’d been screwed. The ticket booth didn’t warn me that they won’t let a single person (I was there alone) ride by himself, nor will they pair you up with someone. I waited in a long line only to be told this and sent back to the beginning of the line, where I had to ask complete strangers if I could ride with them, which took about 25 minutes because about 30 people told me no, or pretended they hadn’t even heard me ask, until someone finally reluctantly said yes, making the ride uncomfortable and awkward for both of us, and making that the one and only time I got to ride it because I wasn’t about to stand there begging random strangers for a half hour just to ride again.
